Today's senior that WCHS is shining a spotlight on is Kennedie Paul, who is the Editor for the yearbook!
“I have been involved with the yearbook for three years now, I have been Editor-in-Chief for two of those years. I love every aspect of the publications department, but my favorite part would have to be the photography and videography. Yearbook and Newspaper gives you the opportunity to capture amazing moments that the students will get to reminisce about. I am currently doing QR codes for the yearbook that will give people the opportunity to see videos and different moments from sports, clubs, or student life.
I plan on continuing journalism after high school. I graduate in December, then I would like to go to college and receive a degree in sports journalism, my personal goal in life is to make it as far as ESPN. Yearbook has taught me the importance of communication and relationships. Our yearbooks could not be made without communication within our schools and community. I try my best to have bonds with my staff and advisor, because things do not go smoothly without those healthy relationships. I think my mindset about life has changed more than anything else since I began this class. Everyone has different opinions or different lives; when I go to different activities, I have the ability to see people in their own zone. I do feel like I have grown a lot as an individual in the past years because of the yearbook.
The year I joined, I was very careless. The staff that year was not the strongest and I did not enjoy the class. Since I’ve become Editor, I’ve pushed myself to be more responsible and a role model for others. I do not want others to dislike a class like this. Yearbook definitely does stand out from other clubs. We cover almost every club, event, and WACC class that our school has to offer. Our main goal is to make a yearbook that everyone can look back on for years and years. This is why I have pushed to do QR codes for three years. Mrs. Leinbach is my biggest influence in life. We have watched each other grow for years. She is the sweetest person I have ever met, you can tell her anything and she will always support you. She is the reason I love journalism; she encourages my dreams and I know she will always be my number one supporter.” -Kennedie Paul
