This past Saturday, the newly formed Warsaw Winter Winds put on a spectacular show at State Finals, capping off their spectacular season with a bronze medal, finishing third in the state. Performing their program, Scorched, the group of 33 students competed against schools across the state for one final time. “The kids have worked tirelessly since November to put on this production,” says Kyle Travis, the group’s director. “They’ve done incredible things throughout the year and I’m so proud of their accomplishment. It’s a special group of kids that truly dedicated themselves to this performance. It paid off in the end with such an entertaining performance.”
"The accomplishments of the group are emblematic of the support that the band program has received," says Travis. “We couldn’t have put together such a production without such great kids, but also our outstanding support from parents, band boosters, school administration, school board, and the Warsaw community. Our high school was recognized as one of NAMM’s best schools for music education, which would not be possible without all of these groups coming together. I’m incredibly grateful for the team we have here.”
