Today in Human Body Systems (HBS) students investigated the respiratory system by dissecting sheep plucks (the trachea, lungs, and heart of a sheep). They started their dissection by looking at the external anatomy and then used a bike pump to inflate the sheep's lungs. To finish their dissection they will look more closely at the internal structure of the lungs and look at how the heart and lungs are connected on Thursday. #ExperienceWCS

On January 28th, Raiders team Captain, Cadet Cpt. Jamison had the opportunity to speak with the Chain Breakers about the WCHS JROTC Raiders team. The Chain Breakers is a group of young men grades 7-12. Cadet Cpt. Jamison and these young men shared a twenty minute Bible lesson together, and then participated in three rotations. The rotations consisted of liter carry, doing a workout, and learning about rope bridge. The Chain Breakers had a great time learning about the Raiders team and WCHS JROTC, and getting to be with the cadets. #ExperienceWCS

On Nov 14th, WCHS had 28 students take the STAMP test in an attempt to earn a multilingual certificate of proficiency. The STAMP test assesses the student's proficiency in the four language competencies of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This assessment is available to students in our upper-level language courses. We had students test in Spanish and French. Last year, Warsaw had 12 students from the class of 2023 who met all requirements and received a Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency at graduation. We look forward to more this coming year! Way to go students!

WCHS Select Theatre is proud to present: They Promised Her the Moon! In 1960 the famed “Mercury Seven” trained at NASA to become the first American astronauts. But they weren’t alone. Thirteen women also underwent the same rigorous psychological and physical testing. The first woman to be tested, Jerrie Cobb, even out-performed her male counterparts. But while Alan Shepard and John Glenn went on to become household names, Ms. Cobb never got that chance. They Promised Her the Moon tells the unknown true story of this exceptional and unjustly overlooked woman—skilled aviator, world-record-holding pilot, successful business executive—and the powerful forces that kept her from reaching orbit. Join the Honors Select Theatre class for their preview performances before they head to the Indiana Thespians Regional Competition the following weekend. Run time: 45 minutes November 11 at 7:00pm November 12 at 2:30pm Tickets: $12 Adults $8 Students/Seniors To Purchase Tickets WCHS PAC Box Office: (574) 371-5040 #WCSmission #ExperienceWCS

If you plan to drop off and pick up your student from WCHS/WACC, please pay close attention to the map. Routes have been permanently adjusted due to new construction. Tips for a Hassle Free Drop-Off: - Follow the arrows showing traffic flow and drop off or pick up at the specific marked locations (Doors 2/3 and Door 51). - If you create your own route, it holds up the line and bogs down traffic. - Do not mix the yellow and red routes. - You can drop off all along the sidewalk; You don't have to wait until you are all the way up to the door. - Watch for pedestrians (staff) who may have to cross the line to enter the building. - Avoid having to turn left back out onto SR-15.
