blooming sunflowers
This past year as the birds were enjoying the new feeders full of food in Claypool’s courtyard, they were also unknowingly planting hundreds of sunflowers. These volunteer sunflowers grew all summer long. With summer quickly coming to an end, these sunflowers have started to become brown and dry out. But that’s not the end for these sunflowers! Some of our Kindergarteners helped Miss Bonnie harvest some of the larger heads and put them in our greenhouse to dry. The seeds will be harvested to seed save to grow new plants next year and also to feed the birds again!
