Warsaw Community Schools' Checkmate Hunger Chess Tournament is open to students AND adults. 2023 marks the 23rd year of the tournament.
The Warsaw Education Foundation has helped to provide funding every year since the tournament began. 2023 also marks the tenth year of the tournament's partnership with A.C.T.S. (Allowing Christ to Shane). ACTS provides concessions and uses all proceeds from sales to feed the hungry in Haiti. Since the partnership, the tournament has been named "Checkmate Hunger."
