SYM Board Recognition

Warsaw, IN-  On September 18th, Warsaw Community Schools held a special recognition during its combined board meeting. The purpose was to celebrate a remarkable partnership now in its second year, between WCS and SYM Financial Advisors. This ongoing collaboration continues to uplift student engagement and nurture a culture of school spirit.

At the heart of this partnership lies SYM Financial Advisors' generous commitment to fund all-sport passes for every 9th-12th grade student at Warsaw Community High School (WCHS). This initiative ensures that students have access to a wide array of athletic events, promoting engagement and a sense of community. As a symbol of this partnership, the Warsaw Tiger cheer block section is known as the “SYM Zone.”

WCHS students Meredith Bowald, Liz Martinez, Ben Reust and Ebonie Miller attended the board meeting to represent the Cheer Block and express gratitude on behalf of the students.  There are two special upcoming games for fans to mark on their calendars, although it is important to note that WCS corporate sponsors do not participate in decisions regarding themes or school policy. All themes are developed collaboratively by the Cheer Block student leadership team in coordination with Warsaw Community High School Administration and the Athletic Department.

  • Homecoming: On September 29th, the WCHS Varsity football team will face Wawasee High School at 7:00 PM, sparking the spirit of Homecoming and Tiger Pride. The theme for the Homecoming parade is “Movie Night” with a kick-off scheduled for 5pm.  Seniors are encouraged to wear orange attire, while everyone else is invited to wear black to show their support for the Tigers.
  • PINK OUT with Ribbon Walk and Survivor Reception: On October 13th, the WCHS Varsity football team takes on Northridge High School at 7:00 PM.   The stadium will turn pink as the cheer block hosts a powerful PINK OUT event. Halftime will feature a moving ribbon walk, followed by an inspiring reception for cancer survivors.  Purchase a shirt before September 24th to participate: pinkout.maverickwebstores.com/shop/home/

WCHS senior, Macie Marshall shared her gratitude, “SYM’s first donation was my junior year, and it definitely made my junior year of high school my favorite year ever. Originally, I wanted to thank them for making my junior year great, but then they donated another year of all sports passes! I can’t wait to spend my free time watching games!”

Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert states, “WCS is grateful for the partnership with SYM Financial Advisors. By removing financial barriers for students, SYM ensures that all 9th-12th grade students have the opportunity to attend all WCHS sporting events. This commitment not only promotes student engagement, but also reinforces the sense of belonging and unity within our school community.  We are also very excited for our cheer block student leadership in the selection and planning of themes and activities that help our students and community come together to support the Warsaw Community Schools.  Go Tigers!”
