Dual Language Immersion

Elementary School Dual Language Immersion Teachers for Warsaw Community Schools in Kosciusko County, Indiana.

An Elementary School Dual Language Teacher teaches elementary school students individually and in groups in Spanish, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests. They establish clear objectives for all lessons that guide the learning process toward the achievement of State curriculum goals. They create a classroom environment that engages and supports all students in learning using a variety of instructional materials and media that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding. While evaluating student learning, they maintain appropriate expectations for all students, provide appropriate feedback, and revise instruction accordingly. They effectively communicate with students, parents, and the community. Bachelor's Degree or Higher or Foreign Equivalent in Education or a related field. IN Teaching License. Native or like-native fluency in Spanish required. Multiple positions available. No immigration sponsorship.

Building Substitute

In the absence of regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Take attendance in accordance with school procedures (we are available to assist)
  • Indicate to students the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with WCS policies
  • Know emergency evacuation routes for classroom assigned (we are available to assist)
  • Know procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems (we are available to assist)
  • May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as bus duty, hall monitoring or other duties assigned by building principal
