Join us WEDNESDAY at 5:45pm to learn more about the Pineapple Patch! In Mrs. Catherine Cavanaugh’s kindergarten class at Lincoln Elementary—affectionately known as the Pineapple Patch—there’s a song for everything! And yes, random bursts of singing are highly encouraged. Mrs. Cavanaugh shared, “In kindergarten, they experience so many firsts in their educational career. I’m honored to be a part of a major milestone! Everything is fresh, exciting and new, which makes teaching a joy.” And of course, the student quotes are priceless: “Uh Mrs. Cavanaugh, I saw you at Walmart over the weekend. I didn’t know you could leave school. Wait, does the principal know you left school?!” 😂 Kindergarten magic is real—especially in the Pineapple Patch

Edgewood and Lakeview band students had a great night at the ISSMA Organizational Contest on Friday. They performed with confidence and musicality, earning a GOLD Rating from a panel of three judges. Mr. Peloza, Band Director, shared, "I'm so proud of them. Thank you students, chaperones and parents for a memorable evening." #WarsawInspires

Mrs. Boyer at Eisenhower Elementary has a favorite way to start the kindergarten journey! On the first day of school, each student writes their name and draws a self-portrait. She saves them and hands them back at the end of the year—students love seeing how much they’ve grown! Another class favorite? Sunshine Student! ☀️ Each week, one student is celebrated with a special poster and fun activities. She loves learning about each student and helping everyone get to know each other better! #WarsawInspires

In Mrs. Anderson’s class at Washington Elementary, students are bucket fillers! Every time they show kindness, include a friend or use encouraging words, they get to add a pom-pom to their bucket. Once it’s full—they earn a prize! It’s a fun way to remind students that small acts of kindness make a big impact, and when we lift others up, we all shine brighter! She also loves celebrating those “I did it!” moments—like when a student writes their name or blends sounds for the first time. Every victory, big or small, is worth cheering for! At WCS, Kindergarten is full of fun traditions and creating lasting memories! Miss Perry at Harrison Elementary loves celebrating special moments with her class—like Thanksgiving feasts with families and field trips to Knollbrook Farm! One of her favorite student quotes? “Miss Perry, I really like school because it helps me learn my brain!” Kindergarten is full of learning, laughter and unforgettable moments! #WarsawInspires

Congratulations to the talented students of Edgewood, Lakeview, and the 6th Grade Band for their outstanding performances at the Solo & Ensemble Contest held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Northwood High School. Remarkably, all participating students earned a GOLD Division Rating, collectively bringing home 36 GOLD Medals. Band director Mr. Peloza expressed his pride, stating, "I am so proud of all the students for their hard work and dedication in preparing their music." #WarsawInspires

The Warsaw Education Foundation just awarded over $16,000 in grants to Warsaw teachers to bring innovative projects to life in our schools! These grants support creative learning experiences and inspire students across the district. Today, our Warsaw Community High School students who were selected for the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council came together for their monthly meeting. This is an incredible opportunity to engage with our mayor and impact the community while developing their leadership skills. We're excited to pass along that Finn Conley, Harrison Elementary 6th-grader, was honored with the David Fribley Award at the Young Tiger Football awards ceremony last week. This prestigious award was named after David Fribley—a Warsaw alum who selflessly served and sacrificed his life in Iraq in 2003. Congratulations, Finn! We're proud of you for receiving this recognition! #WarsawInspires

Tonight's regular board meeting kicked off with a special reception celebrating Sheila Howe, our Director of HR, who is retiring after 8 dedicated years with WCS. Thank you, Sheila, for your passion and service to WCS. You will be missed! We were also treated to a fantastic performance by the Warsaw Tiger Marching Band, showcasing their state finalist piece, "Danzón," a Cuban-inspired show. Eight seniors were honored as they took part in their last performance, and the board congratulated the entire band for their hard work and a great season. The meeting also highlighted the success of the recent Hispanic Heritage Night, an event that keeps growing thanks to Coach Burgher and Coach Camargo's passion for uniting the team and celebrating the Hispanic heritage. The night featured tamales, music and dancing.

Huge congrats to the Washington volleyball team for securing the city championship with a 2-0 victory over Leesburg in the Tiger Den! Also ...a big shout out to the Harrison soccer team for their 3-1 win over Eisenhower in the city soccer final at the Tiger Soccer Complex! Way to go, teams! 🙌 #WarsawInspires

Earlier today, the Warsaw Area Career Center hosted their annual N.E.W. (Nontraditional Employment for Women) Workshop. They had a great showing with over 150 sophomore girls from Warsaw and Tippecanoe Valley who explored nontraditional career paths and gained hands-on experience in fields like engineering, law enforcement, architecture and more.! Officer Paige Wood delivered the keynote, sharing her journey from education to law enforcement. HUGE thanks to all the presenters and sponsors for making this day possible, and to our future female leaders for their enthusiasm! #WarsawInspires
